ACTIVITIES

Activities have often been referred to as the other half of education. Christ Lutheran School endeavors to offer a variety of meaningful activities.

MUSIC

Vocal choirs are organized for students f grades 1&2, 3&4, and students in grades 5-8. The "Joyful Noise" is a choral group made up of students in grades 1 & 2. The "Kings Kids" is a choir made up of all students in grades 3&4. The "Christ's Chorus" is an elective choir for students in grades 5-8 who elect to take the class and have approval of the principal and Choir Director. Through out the school year, the choirs take part in various musical activities including singing at a few of the Sunday morning worship services of Christ Lutheran Church.

Students in grades PS - Gr. 4 select to take a Tone Chimes class with the approval of the Principal and the Instructor.

All students participate in a Christmas program each year.

Students in 4th grade receive instruction on the recorder.

A band program will be available if enough students are interest. Parents will pay an additional fee for band instruction.

SCIENCE/SOCIAL STUDIES and ART FAIR

Students participate in an annual Science or Social Studies Fair and an annual Art Fair sponsored by the Utah Lutheran School.

TALENT FESTIVAL

An annual talent festival is held at Christ Lutheran School and is open to any interested student.

SPELLING BEE: The Utah Lutheran Schools host a spelling bee in January. The spelling bee is for selected students in grades 4-8. The winner of the spelling bee represents the Lutheran Schools in the Utah State Spelling Bee.

GEOGRAPHY BEE: Students in grades 5-8 are invited to participate in geography bee. The geography bee is sponsored by the National Geographic Society in cooperation with the National Council of Social Studies Teachers.

STUDENT COUNCIL: Students in grads 5-8 elect a student council. The council is comprised of a Student Body President, vice-president, Secretary, and a representative fro grade 5-8.

FIELD TRIPS: Individual classes take field trips during the year. Parents my be asked to assist with transportation and pay a small fee for the trip.

ATHLETICS:

In addition to the physical education activities required in the curriculum, Christ Lutheran School offers students the opportunity to participate in a variety of after school athletics. The school offers students the opportunity to participate in a variety of after school athletics. The school sponsors competitive teams for boys and girls in grades 5-8. Practice periods for these teams are held after school. Specific practice and game schedules will be issued to parents of participating students just prior to the beginning of each sport's season. There are occasions when certain teams may have the opportunity to travel to a Lutheran School outside the state of Utah.

The following is a list of sports currently available for students:

Boy's Sports: Soccer, Basketball, Cross Country

Girl's Sports: Volleyball, Basketball, Cross Country

A Field day is held each May for all students in grades 1-8. This activity is sponsored by the Utah Lutheran Schools.
